- Sunday marked our return to two services.
- We hit our marks for the length of service. Early service started and ended right on time. Sunday school and the second service each started and ended just a minute or two late. Overall the goal of reducing the worship from 90-95 minutes to 80 minutes, without cutting content, was achieved.
- Attendance was up this week. We counted 170 individuals, though each service had over 90 people in it (counted during the sermon time). We've been averaging 140-150 in Sunday worship for the last several months.
- We had campus minister Tony Bedora from Campus Christians (Kansas University) visit us and give a presentation during the Sunday School hour. We give 20% of our offerings to missions, which is largely divided among our four main mission work partnerships, of which Campus Christians is one. This was Tony's second visit with us.
- We had 110+ at the fellowship dinner after second service. This is the best attended Sunday dinner is recent memory, especially considering that folks from first service left and returned later for the dinner.
- Now that we're recording two sermons, we'll be choosing one to keep, convert to MP3, and (eventually) make available for download. Those of us who hear both will try to judge the minor differences between the sermons and pick the best one. Right now Jay-rod manages the data and does any necessary editing, but if you'd like to help us with this process let us know!
- We began a new a four-part sermon series on evangelism. The series is based on the book of Acts.
[Here's a brief note from my personal blog about Sunday.]
